February 4, 2009- Appalachian State University's Student Government Association is holding a declaration period for the 2009-2010 SGA Presidential and Vice-Presidential elections.  All interested applicants should pick up an information packet from the CSIL office or the SGA contact table in the PSU.  Declaration forms will be accepted starting at 8 am on Monday, February 16th and ending at 5 pm on Friday, February 20th.  All declared tickets are required to attend a Candidates Meeting on Friday, February 20th at 5 pm.  Email Megan Perdue at perduem@appstate.edu with any questions, comments, or concerns.

January 22, 2009- Happy New Year from Student Government! We have a very busy upcoming semester. Our new Director of External Affairs, Elliott Kimball, will start us off with the Housing Fair on February 5th from 10am-2pm in the International Hallway of the Student Union. The fair will feature local landlords and their properties, Housing and Residence Life, and the Judicial Board to talk about tenet rights and what to look for in a lease. Hope to see you there!

December 4, 2008- Student Government is gearing up for the 2009 elections! October 07, 2008- Student Governement now has a new Senate that has been elected in by the student body and has begun resuming regular business meetings at 6:30 on Tuesdays. The profiles and contact information of all cabinet members and the minutes of all Senate meetings up-to-date. Be sure to click around the website and find out what else is new.

July 25, 2008- Student Government is pleased to announce the addition of a media section to our website. We encourage media outlets to utalize this section to recieve the latest Student Government press releases. July 23, 2008- The Boone Board of Elections has chosen to hold the Liquor by the Drink Referendum on a date when many students are out of Boone. While Student Government protests this decision, we realize that it will not be reversed and are enocouraging students to either: return to Boone early to cast your ballot on August 19th OR request an absentee ballot.
